Constructed Geometry No.01 is a long, sleeveless garment built entirely by hand through one of Ebru Gurlek’s signature construction techniques.

Beginning at the bottom and progressing slowly upward, the piece is formed through exceptionally small, dense stitches in high-quality alpaca and merino wool. Approximately 200 hours of handwork, developed over a period of three years, are held within its construction.

The geometry is not applied to a finished garment. The geometry is the construction.

Changes in colour, direction, proportion and texture are worked directly into the piece as it grows, allowing large architectural forms in ivory, natural brown and black to emerge from within the structure itself. Pattern and garment are created simultaneously.

The stitch density was consciously developed to give the garment its particular balance of substance, weight and softness. Its compact surface provides enough structure for the geometry to remain defined while preserving the tactile character of alpaca and merino.

The long, generous silhouette is designed for both men and women. Two handmade ties punctuate the open front, allowing the garment to be loosely closed at different points while preserving its fluidity and architectural shape.

Its apparent simplicity conceals the complexity of its making. Exact reproduction is exceptionally difficult: the construction depends on continuous decisions around tension, proportion, colour placement and geometry. This deliberate complexity is part of the Ebru Gurlek approach to handcrafted apparel—creating pieces whose identity is embedded in how they are made.

Constructed Geometry No.01 belongs to the same construction language developed through Constructed Time No.01, where time itself becomes part of the material: hours accumulated stitch by stitch until an idea becomes form.

Completed for its future owner

Before Constructed Geometry No.01 leaves the house, the initials of its owner will be embroidered by hand into the garment, creating a discreet personal mark that completes the work for the person who will live with it.

Once personalized, final photographs of the completed piece will be taken and sent to the buyer as part of its record.

Optional Sleeve Commission

The sleeveless construction is the original form of Constructed Geometry No.01. However, its future owner may request the development of detachable external sleeves, created specifically for the piece.

The sleeves will not be conceived as a conventional alteration. Their shape, construction, attachment and relationship with the existing geometry will be developed in consultation with the buyer while preserving the integrity of the original work.

Because this requires a new design and hand-construction process, detachable sleeves are commissioned separately and carry an additional cost, determined after the design consultation.

The original piece therefore remains complete as it is, while allowing its future owner to participate in a new chapter of its construction.
