More than 1,000 hand-crocheted miniature circles come together to create the Hibiscus Crochet Cardigan—a singular composition shaped by colour, craft and the materials already at hand.

Each circle is individually crocheted using leftover cotton yarns from our making process. Rather than designing a fixed colour palette and sourcing yarn to reproduce it, Hibiscus begins with what already exists. Those available colours guide the composition, making each cardigan naturally different from the next.

The miniature circles are arranged by hand into a distinctive diagonal pattern, gradually building a richly textured surface over more than 20 days of meticulous crochet work. Five natural Akoya shell buttons complete the piece.

Designed as a unisex, one-size garment, Hibiscus is conceived as an evolving series: the design may return, but this exact combination never will. Each edition is created from a different collection of leftover yarns, giving every Hibiscus its own colour story and individual identity.
