Rhythm Scarf No.01 explores repetition as a way of building form.

Two distinct hand-crocheted square designs alternate across the piece, connected by a sequence of repeated intermediary modules. This recurring structure creates its rhythm: motif, repetition, interruption, return.

Each square is crocheted individually in alpaca and merino before being joined entirely by hand. Subtle differences in tension, texture and alignment remain visible, allowing the presence of the making process to become part of the surface.

The crochet itself is intentionally light and open, giving the generous construction softness, flexibility and movement. At approximately 295 cm before fringes, the exaggerated length allows the piece to be wrapped, layered and worn in different ways rather than behaving as a conventional scarf.

A second hand-crocheted layer is incorporated discreetly into the construction to create a pocket—an unexpected functional detail embedded within the textile rather than added to it.

Long 25 cm alpaca-silk fringes extend from both ends, bringing the total length to approximately 345 cm. Their fluid movement contrasts with the geometry of the crochet modules, softening the edges and giving the piece another tactile dimension.
